Silver Lion is an online, eclectic, irregular, not for profit, arts and culture magazine. We are based in Leeds in the North of England but our focus is worldwide.

We have no house style and we believe in a non-hierachical, non-elitist view of art where all mediums are equal and all interesting work deserves coverage whether it is "trendy" or not. We do however love a bit of obsessional art ;-)

Silver Lion is here to provide a platform for the multitude of talented artists, writers, photographers, poets, illustrators and musicians that are out there ... many of whom don't get the exposure they deserve.

Our editorial policy is to seek out people who we believe are doing interesting work then give them the space and freedom to produce whatever they want and to present it however they want.

For a magazine this is a bit of a gamble akin to a trapeze act working without a safety net ... sometimes it may go spectacularly awry but we believe in trusting the people we work with and when it goes well it is sublime as our artists soar effortlessly through the ether.

We are actively seeking contributors in all mediums for future issues. As an online magazine we have unlimited space and the opportunity to include sound, moving images, interactive artworks, animation and experimental work of all kinds. Silver Lion will be published irregularly when there is enough content to warrant it.

We hope that contributors to Silver Lion will grasp this opportunity to take a few chances without fear of failure and we hope that readers will take into account the experimental nature of Silver Lion and read with an open heart and open mind.
